'Transition Period' to Mandatory Proof of Vaccination in Costa Rica
From December 1, 2021 until January 8, 2022,the Government will begin a 'transition period to normality', allowing 100% capacity in leisure venues, culture, bars, restaurants, hotels, gyms and other types of shops serving the public.
New Rules in Costa Rica.
Whether you are a business owner, employee or customer, the Government of Costa Rica has some new "mandatory" guidelines for you to follow.
As of December 1, it will be mandatory to show the QR code of the COVID-19 vaccination certificate to enter the following establishments:
Restaurants, sodas, cafeterias and food courts (food trucks, food courts).
Bars and casinos.
General stores, department stores and shopping centers.
Museums
Fitness centers.
Hotels, cabins or accommodation establishments.
Spas.
Activities, organizations or congregations in places of worship.
Event rooms for business, academic or social activities.
Adventure trip.
Theaters, cinemas, art and dance academies, and artistic activity establishments.
Sports activities establishments.
While the document that is required to show and the means of verifying the document won't be released until November, the expectation is that all business will comply with the new rules.
At the same time the government has announced what they term a lessening of restrictions specifically for those who have complied with the vaccinations.

In a Press Release this week from the Casa Presidencial, a proof of vaccine or vaccine document issued by the Ministerio de Salud will be required for most activities as of December 1st 2021.
